The Centre is a major financial actor for the microtechniques sector at national and European level. At the start of this year, the Centre adjusted its strategy to better respond to companies’ requirements and their necessary development in promising markets.
The strategic roadmap notably includes, justified in relation to the Centre’s overall environment (local, national and international competitive, R&D environment):
• the Centre’s priority fields and themes
• the Centre’s technological and market objectives over 3, 5 or 10 years
5 priority technological areas :
• Micro-manufacturing and micro-handling
• Micro-injection/micro-moulding
• Microsystems
• Surface treatments
• Nanomaterials.
4 priority target markets :
• Biomedical
• Transport and Energy
• Measurements & Controls
• Luxury (watchmaking, jewellery-making/jewellery and eyeglass trade).
• Over 3 years: acquiring new competencies/reinforcing existing know-how for the 5 technological areas defined above and the 4 priority target markets, particularly with joint venture R&D between manufacturers of unique parts, tool-makers, main system manufacturers and laboratories.
• Over 5 years: consolidation of new competencies on key products per markets, particularly by taking full advantage of the contribution of microsystems, mastering design and modernizing tools.
• Over 10 years: moving from the part to the function, or converging microsystems (Si) and microtechniques (micro-manufacturing, micro-injection, surface treatment) technologies, to make hybrid functions.
